Happy New Years! We get two days of celebrating!
One tradition for the New Year is to share sweet treats with friends and family. First home that we visited shared some sweet treats with us. All homemade except the sprite.
Another tradition we found out about was if family members were quarreling or had hard feelings towards one another, they would meet at the Eldest siblings home. There they would work out their differences to start the New Year out right. The following day they will party with the family. I love that tradition!
After visiting with the family we picked up some lunch packets. The Elders were at our home working on a powerpoint to send to India when the Prophet comes next week. So we decided we needed to feed them.
The lunch packet is filled with rice, chicken, salad, boiled egg and pineapple. All for 250 rupees which equals $1.67. They are pretty tasty!
Elders leaving to go to Colombo. While they are in Colombo they will pick up a new Elder coming in from the Philippines (he is actually a native Sri Lankan). This is going to be great for Sri Lanka!
Rain storm coming in. View from our home.
Here comes the rain!
More sweet treats. Homemade butter cake, crackers and fish rolls.

What a fun day of visiting and teaching!
