Who Would Have Thought?

I'm not too good at taking selfies, but these two gave me these flowers from their garden. They are dried so I'm thinking about making a wreath out of them. Wish me luck.

Who would have thought? Years ago when I was in Young Women's we had a lesson on leading music. After the lesson I didn't think much about leading music. I enjoy singing but I'm not one to get up in front of others to sing.

It wasn't until I was at BYU going to college that I was called as a chorister for Relief Society. I was scared to death but accepted the call. I attended a workshop to learn a little more about leading music. Since then I have used this knowledge in a lot of places we have visited.

When we visited a sacrament meeting in Yellowstone National Park they asked me to lead the music. While my in-laws were serving a mission in Palmyra I was asked to lead the music. Before leaving on our mission I lead again in Relief Society and now here in Sri Lanka I get to lead and help with the music.

I still get nervous and sometimes I have to laugh at myself because sometimes my voice cracks or I get off beat, but I do love looking at all the people and seeing how many I can make smile. Maybe I've made you smile a time or two?

I am grateful that over forty years ago someone took the time to teach me to lead music and I can share it with others!
