Guava For You!

On our visits today we stopped at Sister Susila's. She shared some things out of her garden. Fresh guava for Elder Luke!

I get to have some curry. The leaves you can put in soups or crush to make curry.

Here's Brother Shantha cutting another type of curry leaf down for us.

Sister Susila telling me how to use the curry leaves.

We love visiting Sister Susila. She is a very talented lady. She plays the piano in church, teaches the Gospel Doctrine class and teaches in Young Women's. She is so kind to everyone.

We visited with these two sisters. Enjoyed cookies and a cup of hot Milo at their home.

Next we stopped by Thushara's new shop.

Front of his shop.

He paints and fixes vehicles. This is what a three wheeler (or tuk tuk) looks like when it is torn apart. He told us it takes about an hour to take the top off of the frame.

Stopped for lunch. This place had the best fried rice.

Here's some curry if you would like some.

This is called umbrella. It is a very sweet fruit fried and mixed in a sauce. The owner was interested in who we were and what we were doing. He wrote down the address if our church and the Elders phone number. You never know what could happen.

Stopped at a friend's shop but he wasn't around. We looked around but....

next door was this sweet shop. Had to buy a few sweets for the road. The prices you see are in rupees. $1.00 equals 150 rupees.

This was how the wall was decorated with sweet stuff.

Saw some water buffalo along the river. They were enjoying the cool water.
