Heading Back to Kandy!

Really! Our retreat is over!

Saying good bye to a wonderful Resort and people who work there.

On the way back to Kandy we encountered road construction. Doesn't matter which country you live in the roads have to be fixed.

Stopped by the Polonnaruva Site.

This site is in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka.

The islands second great capital, in the medieval era (11th-13th centuries A.D.)

This is Sri Lanka's dry zone.

The museum had this sign up.

Some of the old temples.

Ancient Stupa where some of the monks and nuns were cremated.

Hot and windy.

Buddha at Gal Vihara.

Amazing structures.

Another stupa.

We stopped at a wood shop. Ken really wanted to bring this elephant home.

Lunch/dinner stop.

Good thing Kumar is a great driver. Had to slam on the breaks so we wouldn't run into this elephant. Three more were right behind him.
We had a great three days of exploring, learning more about Sri Lanka, and enjoying being with one another. Thanks Kumar for a great trip!
