Matthew 25:36, "I was sick, and he visited me."
Sickness and hard times affect us all eventually. We can help lift those who are suffering, even if all we do is devote a little time to visit and pray for them.
Today we stopped by the train station to get tickets to go to Colombo on Tuesday. Elder Funk is coming and would like to meet with the missionaries. When we arrived at the train station we found out that they are on strike and not sure when they would be back on. So we arranged for Kumar to come and pick us up so we could still go to Colombo.
Then we did a little exploring of Kandy. We went to a place they call Lovers Walk. Actually it is Udawatta Kele Sanctuary. You will notice some very interesting tree branches.
This is called a giant Moana called Puss-well which is about 200 years old and spread ing over an area nearly 2 hectares can be found within the Udawattekele forest.
The lovely wash rooms (toilets).
We headed down one trail and ran into all these monkeys. I bet there were over 20 that we could see. I was a little (no a lot) nervous so we turned around and headed down another trail and ran into some more branches.
View of the Royal Pond. The water is very muddy. If you look closely the black specks are turtles swimming in it.
After visiting the forest we walked down to Kandy Lake. We are resting under the shade of our umbrella.
Bamboo trees. View of the lake. Bridge at Kandy Lake.
Arch and trail. When we were all finished we decided to walk back to Our Guest House. It's about 2.5 km there and would take us about 45 minutes to walk there. This is the view of the sidewalk (none). We have learned to watch where we step and watch for buses. Sometimes you have to stand close to the side so you don't get hit. We had a great day and enjoyed our time together.
Never a dull moment! 😄
