#LightTheWorld - Day 26, December 26, 2017

Called to serve Him, heavenly King of glory,
Chosen ever to witness for his name,
Far and wide we tell the Father's story,
Far and wide his love proclaim.

Onward, ever onward, as we glory in his name;
Onward, ever onward, as we glory in his name;
Forward, pressing forward, as a triumph song we sing.
God our strength will be; press forward ever,
Called to serve our King.

This morning we headed to Colombo to have a Christmas party with these missionaries. We rode the 5:50 train with the Elders so we could start the party at 10:00.

We visited then had our talent show. Sister Jayarathne showed us her magic trick.

Sister Basthiyan sang, "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" in English. Sister Lathen accompanied her.

Elder Luke read us a Christmas story.

Sister Lee shared how she and Elder Lee met and got married.

Elder Lathen sang us a song about raindrops being gumdrop. Elder Lee worked up to break his nose (just a trick).

I taught them how to make a box out of paper. The Elders made a video of doing service.

Next we played the gift exchange game. Everyone draws a number and you get to pick a gift. You can either pick a gift that is already opened or a new one. Once the gifts are all opened we set a timer for 3 minutes. Dice is being passed around during this time. If you roll doubles you can exchange your gift for another one. It got pretty crazy but was so much fun!

Elder Luke ended up with a frock and I got the sarongs. Don't we look cute?

We then headed to the Cinnamon Grand for lunch. Elder Abeythunga worked there before his mission.

We could eat almost anything you wanted. The buffet included crab, lobster, salmon, Turkey, salads, rice dishes, potatoes, salad and dessert.

I actually got Turkey and mashed potatoes. It was so yummy!🤗

Around 4:00 we left to drive back to Kandy. It takes us 4 hours to get back home. We had Kumar drive us back. On the way home the Elders and Kumar were teaching us some Sinhala. Ken had them laughing so hard because of trying to pronounce the words. 😜 It did make the trip go faster.

On the way home we saw Santa heading out of town. See you next year Santa! And to all a good night!
