#LightTheWorld - Day 31

Ezra 7:10, "For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it" Enjoyed this article in the Ensign entitled, Prepare Thy Heart, by Leone O. Jacobs. Prepare your heart to seek the law of the Lord and to do it, and in every way possible help others to prepare their hearts for righteousness. ❤

Today we walked to church. This hill is steep and narrow. We have to really watch for the cars.

Here you can see how careful we have to be.

This is a tunnel we have to go through. There is not much space between cars and people. I only walk through it during the day.

After church heading home we saw this wedding cart. πŸ’‘

They decorate this cart for the bride and groom. 😊

We've seen this cart loaded with wood or parked on the corner. Never thought we would see it being used for a wedding. πŸ€”

#LightTheWorld - Day 30

Saturday is a special day.
It's the day we get ready for Sunday:
We clean the house,
and we shop at the store,
So we won't have to work until Monday.
We brush our clothes,
And we shine our shoes,
And we call it Our get-the-work done day.
Then we trim our nails,
And we shampoo our hair,
So we can be ready for Sunday.

This song comes from the Primary song book page number 196.

We had the privilege of having our first guests stay with us tonight. These two came from Colombo. Loved visiting with them and talking about the Gospel. We are so blessed to be around such wonderful people!

#LightTheWorld - Day 29

Luke 2:10, "Good tidings of great joy..."

We stopped at the church to do some cleaning in the library and were surprised to have mail. Thanks kids for the cards and pictures!πŸ€—

I forgot that I gave the library key back to President Kumara and had no way to get in the library. Just like home, not many people get a church library key. πŸ˜‰ So we ended up going shopping for a computer. Our computer that we brought from the United States got a crack on the screen. It has been acting up so we needed to get a new one.

Everything we do as missionaries is downloaded on our computer. When we teach the English classes we have PowerPoint presentations already to go on the computer. So off we headed to the Kandy Centre.

After purchasing our computer it was time for lunch. What better lunch than an ice cream cones.

Having fun next to the Christmas decorations at the mall. Yes, there is a mall here. The stores are very westernized. Different styles and brand names, but a lot like home.

Isn't he 'beary' cute?

Headed home and the rest of the day moved files and downloads on our new lap top computer.

#LightTheWorld - Day 28

I feel my Saviors love
In all the World around me.
His Spirit warms my soul
Through everything I see.

He knows I will follow Him,
Give all my life to him.
I feel my Saviors love,
The love he freely gives me.

Today we didn't have to teach at the University so we decided to walk through the Universities Botanical Gardens.  They are beautiful! I thought about how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful world. The words from this primary song express how much our Savior loves us.

This orchids is called the "Holy Ghost" orchid.

We visited the orchids house. So many different kinds of orchids. Some smelled like chocolate, vanilla, lemon and lavender. Following are pictures of some of the flowers we were able to see.

We even saw some animals. A small turtle swimming in the pond.

Look close at the tree and you will see bats. There were hundreds of them hanging in the trees.

Monkeys were all around, too.

It doesn't matter what country you come from, when you have a large park the kids get some type of game going.

Loved watching these girls take a picture of their mother. Mothers and daughters together make me happy. πŸ€—

On the way home we saw this truck hauling an elephant. This is something you don't see in Utah.
