Poya Day

Today is Poya Day which means there is no school, government places and some businesses are closed. Every full moon day is known as a Poya in the Sinhala language; this is when a practicing Singalese Buddhist visits a temple for religious observances. There are 12 or 13 Poya per year.

This is a picture of a family we met last night. Dad and Sister didn't make it home for the picture. We enjoyed their company and good food.

Art work I got from Nishara. Doesn't she do a wonderful job? I just love it! Thank you Nishara for sharing!
