This morning we got our apartment cleaned and mopped. Anne is leaving in July to go on her mission to the Philippines. She has been earning some money to help pay for her mission and we get a clean apartment.
A friend from the Branch, Seetha, invited us to go shopping, but first we have to eat lunch. We went to a place called Tandoori, India Cuisine. We had buttered and garlic Naan with chicken, Tandoori chicken and Briyani rice.
For dessert we had watalappan. It is a coconut custard pudding made of coconut milk, jaggery, nuts, eggs, various spices and thick pandan juice. Today is a Muslim holiday called, "Eid Mubarak." This is a traditional Sri Lankan dessert that they would eat to celebrate.
Aid Mubarak is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
After lunch it was time to go shopping. Seetha's daughter is getting married in August. Her daughter is living in Dubai. We are making invitation boxes and needed some red velvet material.
Ken hates shopping, let along going into a fabric store. He never did come into the store but took pictures. We found the material we wanted then had to look for all the accessories.
One of shops along the way.
Checking out to be on our way home.
Purchased some more Rambutans, or Porcupine Eggs!
Home working on our project.
Final project! Not too bad for our first invitation box. Just 15 more to make.
IT WAS GOOD DAY!
