Started the morning watching the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the revelation on the priesthood.
The event was held at the Conference Center on Temple Square.
The celebration included singing, dancing and the spoken word.
The June 1978 revelation extended the blessings of priesthood and the temple to all of God's children everywhere in the world.
The event was titled "Be One," a reference to Latter-day Saint scripture where Jesus says,
"Be one; and if he are not one ye are not mine."
Doctrine and Covenants 38:27
"Differences in cultural, language, gender, race, and nationality fade into insignificance as the faithful enter the covenant path and come unto our beloved Redeemer," said President Nelson.
"May we overcome any burdens of prejudice and walk uprightly with God - and with one another - in perfect peace and equity."
I remember very well sitting in a class at BYU when we heard the announcement. What an exciting thing to hear!
Tonight we visited Sister Erondi's home. She told us that this is her mother's display. Very nice pictures!
She fixed us string hoppers, potato curry, chicken curry, beets, cucumbers and pineapple. She is such a good cook and helps us whenever we need something.
After visiting with Erondi we stopped by another home where they fed us eggs, bread and soup. We were all so full that we didn't eat much, but enjoyed their company.
