Today we are taking a trip with Elder and Sister Bradshaw to Trincomalee.
Good thing we don't have to travel like this all the way there.
We took a safari ride into a village.
First we road on a bull cart.
Next we get on a small boat to see the beautiful view.
The rock in the distance is Sigirya.
Such a beautiful area.
The boatman made us a necklace out of the flowers.
Then he mad a hat out of the lily pad for Ken.
Looks like Peter Pan!
Made it to the village hut where we get traditional Sri Lankan food.
First she peels the coconut.
Then she cracks it open. We enjoy the coconut juice.
Next we have to scrape out the coconut to make coconut sambal.
With some onions, hot peppers, and coconut she uses a rock stone to mix it together.
Yum! Yum!
Lunch is prepared and ready for us to enjoy!
Filling our plates!
We enjoyed rice, green bean curry, sweet potatoes, lake fish, coconut sambal, poppadom, manioc and bananas. So good!
