Getting ready to go teach English at Mahiyanganaya. Before we left we bought some candy at this little shop to take to the children.
At the shop this milk truck stopped by.
This is the van we took to travel Mahiyanganaya.
Sarojani's mother lives there and we wanted to go see everyone before we leave in March.
One last treat before we got into the car.
Eating a rose apple, also known as jambu fruit.
Pretty tasty!
Heading up through the canyon we had to make a stop. With all the curves some were getting carsick, and it wasn't me this time.
We bought a few things to eat and some sprite.
The first two pictures are the beautiful scenery.
Then they have a shower if you want to cool off.
Made it to the house!
This plant is known as the Valentine plant.
Red bananas!
Rocks
Trees
Coming to the English class!
Anoda
Roots growing on the outside!
Look close and you will see green oranges!
Chickens
Two thumbs up for a fun English class!
We sang songs, talked about our favorite foods and Health problems.
We now have "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" stuck in our head.
We gave each person a notebook, pencil and some candy.
After the children came up to us to thank us. What a humbling experience to have them bow to us. Some of the little children would touch our feet as a sign of respect. Very touching!
Sister Sarojani with her mother, daughter and neices.
This little guy came in late with his mom.
Cute kid so we had to get a picture with him!
Still can't resist taking pictures of the flowers by Sister Sarojani's grandparents house.
Heading back home we stopped to feed the monkeys!
I like watching them but didn't want to get too close to feed them.
Brother Shantha had no problem giving them food.
With us being so close we could hear them making sounds that reminded me of cats meowing!
It was a fun day!
