Fabulous Friday!

Thursday night we had dinner with Sister Wasanthi!
It took us a while to get there. We thought that she lived close enough for us to walk. As we headed up the hill I gave her a call to make sure we were in the right spot. With her limited English and what little Sinhala that I understand. We knew we weren't in the right spot. We called Brother Shantha, who was out with the Elders, to call her and explain where we were. I few minutes later she came to the rescue in a three wheeler to take us to her home.
The place we were walking to was her mother's.
Good thing we have phones and people who can keep us in the right places.

We really enjoyed getting to know her better.

She prepared us a wonderful dinner!
Fried rice, chicken, green beans, salad and papadum.
It really tasted good.
For dessert we had mango ice cream!
Yummy!

These are two trophies she earned from her work.
Congratulations!

Friday morning we visited with Sister Susila! To me she is a woman of great faith and love. She is teaching the Gopel Doctrine class and had some questions about the lesson. Elder Luke is teaching the same lesson in the youth Sunday School class. So they we able to discuss the lesson.

This is a drink she made from the flower on the left. One of our favorite drinks.

Ken enjoying jaggery. It is a sweet candy.

Some of our other treats she shared with us.

Brother Shantha picking curry leaves for us.

Sister Susila is so kind to share with us.
Thank you! Can't wait to try these in my soup.

After Sister Susila's we had to do a few errands. We visited the Bandaras home but I forgot to take pictures.

Our last visit of the day was at Sanjeewa's home.

Sakuna was made a deacon last Sunday so he will get to pass the sacrament this Sunday. We so love this family!

We always have fun!

As we were getting ready to leave, the three wheeler had a flat tire.
Good thing we had people around because two people could tip the three wheeler while one could change the tire. In about 10 minutes we were heading home.
What a busy but Fabulous Friday in February!
