First Day At The Manila Temple! - August 29, 2018

This is the hotel that we stayed at. Very nice! We had three rooms with kichenettes. Those that liked to cook could make their own rice and curries. We were close enough to a mall to eat at restaurants.

Breakfast comes with our rooms.

Many, many choices of things to eat.

We loved the variety of foods. Many of our friends prefer their rice and curry.

After breakfast we waited for our taxi to take us to the Manila Temple.

First thing on our list was to go to the Family Search Library. We met this sweet Sister Duncan from Canada. She is a neighbor to a friend that Ken went to High School with.

Here we are trying to do a selfie.

We were able to find many family names and get them ready to take to the temple.

These ladies were so helpful and patient with us.

Here she is helping Jagath.

Once we finished with everyone it was time to get something to eat.

We ate at the canteen next to the Patron Housing. We could choose between pork or chicken with rice. I enjoyed  the pork since we don't get much pork in Sri Lanka.

After eating it was time to go in the temple.

So beautiful!

For members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a temple is the most sacred place of worship on the earth. It is unique from all other places of worship. It is designated as the only place where families can be united forever and where the most sacred gospel ordinances are performed. It is also a place where you can feel closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, a place of peace and revelation, a place where family relationships are strengthened, and a place to seek direction concerning life’s challenges.
Although all people are invited to attend worship services in Church meetinghouses, a temple is different. After a temple is dedicated, visitors are welcome to enjoy the beautiful and peaceful temple grounds, but entrance into the temple is reserved for faithful members of the Church—those who are willing and prepared to receive these special ordinances, covenants, and blessings.

The flowers are so pretty.

Waiting to get dressed for our session.

What a blessing for these Saints who have waited to come today. Even though everything was in English they did an amazing job. We had a very spiritual experience!  Many angels were placed in my way to help me today! Love to be a part of watching families be sealed together forever!
