TONGUE Twisters!

Having fun with our TONGUES. Enjoy some TONGUE twisters.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
He would chuck, he would, as much as he could, and chuck as much wood
As a woodchuck would if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.

Betty Bitter bought some butter
But she said the butcher's bitter
If I put it in my batter, it will make my batter bitter
But a bit of better butter will make my batter better
So 'twas better Betty Bitter bought a bit of better butter.

Our TONGUES are good for eating, licking and talking, but
Be careful of the slippery TONGUE of gossip.

Psalms 34:13
Keep thy TONGUE from evil,..

Tonight's English class we described our homes.
We had the students draw their own floor plans of their homes.
This was a great activity because also had to speak English as they showed us the different rooms of their homes.
Another fun evening!

LEGS!

Stand firm.
Be steadfast.
“Stand for truth and righteousness.”
Stand as a witness.
Be a standard to the world.
Stand in holy places.
From Sister Elaine S. Dalton

Today in Primary we had all girls. Ages range from 3 - 10.
My prayer for them is to stay strong and know they are
Daughters of God!

TOUCH of the Master's Hand

Twas battered and scarred,
And the auctioneer thought it
hardly worth his while
To waste his time on the old violin,
but he held it up with a smile.
"What am I bid, good people", he cried,
"Who starts the bidding for me?"
"One dollar, one dollar, Do I hear two?"
"Two dollars, who makes it three?"
"Three dollars once, three dollars twice, going for three,"
But, No,
From the room far back a gray bearded man
Came forward and picked up the bow,
Then wiping the dust from the old violin
And tightening up the strings,
He played a melody, pure and sweet
As sweet as the angel sings.
The music ceased and the auctioneer
With a voice that was quiet and low,
Said "What now am I bid for this old violin?"
As he held it aloft with its' bow.
"One thousand, one thousand, Do I hear two?"
"Two thousand, Who makes it three?"
"Three thousand once, three thousand twice,
Going and gone", said he.
The audience cheered,
But some of them cried,
"We just don't understand."
"What changed its' worth?"
Swift came the reply.
"The Touch of the Masters Hand."
"And many a man with life out of tune
All battered and bruised with hardship
Is auctioned cheap to a thoughtless crowd
Much like that old violin
A mess of pottage, a glass of wine,
A game and he travels on.
He is going once, he is going twice,
He is going and almost gone.
But the Master comes,
And the foolish crowd never can quite understand,
The worth of a soul and the change that is wrought
By the Touch of the Masters' Hand.

Some people we visited today.
This is Padmini.
We are always TOUCHED by the kindness that is shown to us.

We then visited with Sister Leilanona.
These are her grandchildren and daughter, Anoka.

Brother Shantha surprised us with this poster today.

Some fun pictures and forever memories.
We are so TOUCHED by his love for us.
THANK YOU BROTHER SHANTHA! WE LOVE IT!

To end the evening we had dinner with Dr. Gayan.

Showing off my Christmas dress I got from Lockmali.
Thanks!
Everyday we are TOUCHED by so many people. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by those who watch over us and make sure we are safe.

NOSE!

"Be Glad Your Nose Is On Your Face"
By Jack Prelutsky 1940

Be Glad Your Nose Is On Your Face,
Not posted on some other place,
For if it were where it is not,
You might dislike your nose a lot.

Imagine if your precious nose,
We're sandwiched in between your toes,
That clearly would not be a treat,
For you'd be forced to smell your feet.

Your Nose would be a force of dream,
We're it attached atop your head,
It soon would drive you to despair,
Forever tickled by your hair.

Within your ear your nose would be
An absolute catastrophe,
For when you were obliged to sneeze,
Your brain would rattle from the breeze.

Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
Remains between your eyes and chin,
Not pasted on some other place.
Be Glad Your NOSE is on your face!

Visited the Jayasinghe family. He is a man of many talents. He sang us a song in Sinhala, which reminded me of our Native American songs. He then played his flute that he made.

We also played with balloons!
What a fun day with this family!

Visited Sister Sumethra and her daughter.

Her grandson, Tyler, showing us how he can ride his bike.

She shared with us her cloves that she has been drying.
I'm so glad I have a NOSE to smell the cloves!

One NOSE!

MOUTH!

"What you say about others
Says a lot about you!
Matthew 12:34-37

Let's use our mouths for doing good!

👅Like eating ice-cream! 👅

Having finger licking good food!

Trying hot peppers!
NO, DON'T DO IT!!

Mouths are for sharing birthday cake!

Mouths are eating soup!

Mouths are for screaming, laughing, calling, whispering, talking, and many more.
Let's make sure we use our mouths for good things!

Paul, in his epistle to the Ephesians, said:
“I … beseech you … with all lowliness and meekness … to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace [and] let no corrupt communication proceed out of your MOUTH, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. …
“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
(Eph. 4:1–3, 29, 31–32.)

Today we had some juice made out of the flower from Sister Sushila.
It was good for our mouths.

TOES!

Toes will always be at the end of your feet, but at the start of your journey.”

As a teenager my dad would pull my big toes to wake me up in the morning. What a special memory!

Toes remind me of a favorite game that my dad played with us as kids. We even played this with our kids and grandchildren. This is how it goes.

"This little piggy went to the market"
"This little piggy stayed home"

"This little piggy had roast beef"
"This little piggy had none"

"And this little piggy went
Wee, wee, wee all the way home"

Today I went to a special hair stylist, Nethu.

Pavini helped with the shawl.

This is serious hair combing!

Ended with a nice arm message. Even Chethu helped.

Jam berries Before starting English class.

Ended our day with dinner at Sister Seetha's. She prepared a delicious meal of rice, chicken stew and dahl. Of course we had ice-cream.  Everything was so yummy for my tummy!

She is so kind. Before leaving she gave me this beautiful sari and some jewelry for my granddaughters. Can't wait to get a jacket made and wear it!
Thank for a wonderful evenjng!
