Happy Birthday Elder Sellar!

Wishing this young man a "Happy birthday!"

Elder Sellar is serving part of his mission in Sri Lanka while he waits for his visa to Brazil. We have found out he gets to leave for Brazil on February 27 if everything goes well.

I made a pineapple coconut cake.

I really like this recipe!

Pizza and Ketchup!

Tried something different today. 

Who knew ketchup on pizza would taste so good?

Just below our apartment they are building a new home.

We miss the beautiful trees that they had to cut down for the new house.

More flowers on our walk to the church house.

 

After a day of visits and teaching we headed back home.

This is the tunnel that we walk through to get home.

Sometimes there isn't much room for cars and people but everyone is patience and we all make it through safely. 

Grateful for this wonderful Wednesday!

English Class!

We sure love going to this home.

Stopped at a new place for lunch. I guess this is a place where most of the past missionaries would eat. Nice place to eat!

The Royal Mall

Has a grocery store, restaurant, book shop, hotel, a bread shop and many other stores. The bread shop had many tasty sweets! Probably a good thing we didn't know about this place before. I would have bought way too many sweets!

Happy Birthday Brother Shantha!

Look who has a birthday!

So happy to know this guy. He is one of our guardian angels and a good friend. He helps us so much here in Kandy! We are grateful for him everyday!

Thanks Shantha for letting us celebrate your birthday with you!

We went to the KCC to have dinner with Brother Shantha and his wife Anoka, and the Elders. Each of us were able to get some of our favorite foods.

We all had full bellies after eating!

Kandy Branch Family Home Evening!

Tonight we had a Family Home Evening activity!

Elder Abeythunga conducted the meeting.

 

Had 28 people show up, ages 1 - 70.

 

Elders taught out of the "Come Follow Me" manuel.

After the lesson we played a game.

We divided them into 4 groups to play "Jeopardy"

We had questions from the scriptures.

They had to look up the scriptures to find the answer.

Great activity to give them some practice on looking up scriptures.

Each group was awarded prizes by how many points they earned..

Of course after singing a song we had refreshments!

We had a fun time with everyone!
