A Long Train Ride Home to Kandy!

Today we spent some time with the Colombo Branches. It was fun to see some friends from Colombo. Caught the 3:35 train back to Kandy.

 

You know it's going to be a long train ride back when you have been on the train 15 minutes and you are ready to be done!

We weren't able to get first class tickets this time.

So this is our AC. (A fan)

We were about an hour away from Kandy when the train stopped.

We had to wait an hour until an engine came to pull us in.

It really ended up being a long ride home.

Missionary Meeting & A Wedding!

We had a Missionary Meeting with President & Sister Mortensen.

Here we are with Elder Devinuwara, Elder Sellar, Elder Abeythunga, Sister Schwallie,  Elder Galaboda, Sister Chathurya, Elder Karunarathne, Sister Luke, Elder Luke, Sister Bradshaw, Elder Bradshaw, Elder Jayasinghe, and Elder Jayarathne. 

We continue to grow!

A GREAT day in Colombo!

Botanic Gardens Hakgala!

Heading back to Kandy we stopped at a few places.

First stop, Botanic Gardens.

Some very pretty gardens.

 

 

 

 

 

Trees are over 100 years old. Workers are planting new flowers for Spring in April.

 

 

Loved the beautiful area and the cool winter.

Next are pictures of some of the flowers.

Next we visited the New Zealand Farms.

 

Saw lots of cows!

Goats!

And Rabbits!

We also visited the highest peak in Sri Lanka!

Lots of military making sure everything was secure.

 

Lunch stop for Sri Lankan buffet.

Dessert was jelly (Jello) and custard.

Ended the day stopping at fresh vegetable stands to buy some produce.

Then at a strawberry farm to get strawberry shakes and fresh strawberries.

It was a great little get away and we thank Brother Upal for driving us and taking us to some fun places!
