Sister Erondi (in the middle) invited us to dinner.
I am holding a bowl full of string hoppers. String hoppers are made from rice flour that is squeezed and pressed into thin noodles. They then are steamed before they are eaten.
Erondi is holding the salad.
Her friend, Sanjeewani, is holding chicken curry.
We also had potato curry, pottu (ground rice layered with coconut in the shape of a cylinder, pineapple and jam.
After a busy day teaching it was nice to have someone cook dinner for us.
THANKS ERONDI!
