Congratulations Chrish & Sam!

Chrish and Sam had their wedding celebration Saturday. Chrish is working in Abu Dhabi and Sam was going to school in Alabama. They met on line and are now getting married. Chrish's mom is living here in Sri Lanka so that is why the marriage took place here. Sam is originally from Buhl, Idaho. His mother and 5 brothers were able to come to be with them for their special day.

Kandyan Dancers bringing in the groom and his mother.

Dancers bringing in the groomsmen and flower girls followed by the bride.

Elder Luke announcing the program. Good thing this is before everyone arrived!

Now we are all serious and ready to go.

Bride and Groom with their guests.

Brother Namal spoke.  He translated the Book of Mormon into Sinhala.

President Kumara giving them their marriage vows and exchanging rings.
Notice how beautiful her dress is. She sewed it herself! Amazing!

Elder Luke giving them some advice on marriage. He did such a good job announcing and speaking!

Lighting the lamp ceremony.

The mothers and brothers were all able to light the lamp.

Watching them sign their marriage documents.

A few fun pictures of the lamp.

Loved looking through the glass light at the wedding cake.

Cutting the cake with the tradition of sharing each piece with family.

Here with Elder and Sister Bradshaw.

After the wedding ceremony the bride leaves and comes back in a red dress. Traditionally it is a week after the wedding but she changed into her dress before they left to go to their honeymoon suite.
We had a wonderful time visiting and meeting new people. We even danced a little. We wish them the best of luck on their new adventures.
