We headed back to Colombo today. We are spending some more time with the Bradshaws. Then tomorrow we are going to head to Negombo to look at an apartment.
It has been raining a lot here. This is some of the water running off the mountain.
More water in the streams.
As we travel down the tracks we noticed how green everything is but how the fields are flooded from all of the rain.
More flooding! This is a rice paddy.
Some homes close to the tracks.
One thing we have learned is to always carry an umbrella. You never know when it might just rain on you.
We were able to go to the Air Force Museum tonight. President Nihal is a General here in Sri Lanka. He invited all the missionaries and friends to a BBQ. Before dinner we were able to visit the museum.
I'm with Kumar, Elder Abeythunga and Elder Alegarathnum.
Just one of the many planes we were able to see.
This elephant is actually a slide that kids can play on. Too wet to go over and go down the slide.
Beautiful gardens.
We are here with Sister Silva, Sister Jayarathne, Sister Bradshaw, Elder Bradshaw, Elder Alegarathnum, Elder Abeythunga, Kumar and Pradeep. This is inside the Hangar.
The pond.
Entrance to the museum
Another plane.
This sign is to warn us about the crocodiles in the pond. We didn't see any crocodiles, only fish and turtles.
A little dark but some of the people at the BBQ.
The buffet had BBQ chicken, shrimp kabobs, hot dogs, rolls, baked potatoes, salad, egg hoppers, and desserts. It was very tasty.
Socializing.
Few of the plants around the museum.
We had a very lovely evening. Visited with a lot of people. This was our first BBQ since we have been here.
